From Behind The Camera: Brandi Celebrates Independence Day With A Simple Star Spangled Shoot

Every Summer it seems like you blink and the next thing you know, Independence Day is upon us. Patriotic shoots are something that I've shied away from in the past, because I felt that creating patriotic photos often leads to negative backlash. However, this year I decided to start incorporating the use of an American flag in many of my shoots. Let's face it, what says "America" more than beautiful models with the stars and stripes?

With Independence Day fast approaching, Brandi and I were finally able to get a break in the rain for an afternoon shoot. Having worked with Nicole on a fashion shoot the week prior, I now felt comfortable and confident in my ability. However, when it comes to comfort and confidence, Brandi is never lacking either!

In a previous blog, I stated that I've been working with Brandi for a couple years now and her bubbly personality makes working with her so much fun. Her confidence in her modeling ability continues to grow with each shoot and each time she strikes a pose. It's great to see and I'm happy that my photography can be a source for such confidence and happiness.

Brandi dazzled with an outfit perfect for the patriotic theme. She wore a pair of jean shorts and a blue starred tank top. She looked amazing. Looking into her blue eyes she embodied every small town girl in America!

Although the shoot itself was simple with limited backdrops and poses, I feel like it created a good baseline to use for future patriotic photo shoots next year. In fact, I've began finding and saving different ideas so that Brandi and the other models can take the idea of a patriotic theme, expand upon it, and make it something unique to them and further set my photography apart from the rest.

As I continue to push my photography further forward and try different photography styles, I'm curious to hear your thoughts and opinions. Patriotic themed photos do you like or dislike them, why? Is there anything that you feel that we can do differently in future shoots, why? I look forward to starting this conversation with my supporters, so that I can continue to produce a product that my models, myself, and supporters are proud of.

Thank you!
